A special gift for holidays, birthdays and anniversaries. Cherish rare images from the Mogao cave temples near Dunhuang in northwest China. Carved into a cliff face of the Daquan River, over 1000 years devout artists would create more than 700 temples with 45, 000m2 of murals.
The wall paintings in the 492 painted caves feature depictions of Buddhist sutras and parables and also depict the changes undergone by Buddhism upon entering China. Few places on Earth rival the sense of history these caves evoke.
